Sam came out of retirement to join the team as our “runner” this year. A retired state employee, Sam worked as Assistant Director of the Inheritance & Gift Tax Division of the NC Department of Revenue; Audit Team Leader for the Division of Medical Assistance; and Manager of the Self-Funded Workers’ Compensation Unit of the Department of Insurance. Sam also worked as a Financial Advisor for five years with Waddell & Reed, and he retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. In his spare time, Sam enjoys trading stocks and watching sports … and he has plans to reactivate his golf game.
